Job Overview
The Delivery Drivers Wanted job features a commission-based pay structure, including R250 base per day plus R25 per delivery and collection. Additional incentives are available for high performers.
Being a contractor, you’ll need your own vehicle with a canopy, a valid license, a smartphone with data, and proficiency in basic English. The job type is commission-based, so your earnings increase with your productivity.
A typical workday runs from 08:30 to 18:30, Monday to Friday. New drivers first undergo a training and trial period, which helps ensure they meet company standards and learn the ropes.
To qualify, you must sign up on the Breaze Driver app and upload the required documents. Only validated applicants are considered for interviews and further onboarding.
Payments are transparent, with clear examples of daily earnings based on your delivery count, ensuring you know what to expect for your efforts.
Daily Responsibilities
As a delivery driver, you’ll collect multiple shipments from the dispatch centre and ensure same-day delivery throughout the region.
Your main task involves safely, promptly, and courteously delivering and collecting parcels while maintaining a professional demeanor with customers.
Using navigation tools such as Google Maps or Waze is essential. A smartphone is mandatory both for route management and communication.
The app tracks your performance and productivity, impacting your daily and monthly earnings positively if you’re efficient and reliable.
Extra attention is given to vehicle readiness, ensuring your car has a canopy, spare wheel, jack, and charging capability every day you work.
Advantages
This job offers flexible earning potential based on productivity—ideal for self-motivated and reliable drivers.
The daily structure allows you to set clear earning goals. Performance incentives offer financial rewards for top service.
Disadvantages
Because the pay structure relies on completed deliveries and collections, income can be variable if delivery volumes are low.
Your own vehicle, maintenance, and fuel expenses are your responsibility, potentially affecting your net earnings.
Verdict
If you own a suitable vehicle and strive for high earnings, this commission-based delivery job could be a practical fit, especially for proactive drivers. However, variable workloads and self-managed expenses merit careful consideration before applying.
