The role is suitable for those with at least a bachelor’s degree and a 120-hour TEFL/TESOL certificate, as well as strong communication skills and teaching confidence.
A reliable fibre internet connection and professional home office set-up are required, as is the ability to work an interactive platform using Zoom.
If you’re looking to boost your career in education, this job could be your stepping stone.
Responsibilities and Day-to-Day Duties
Tutors deliver dynamic, interactive lessons based around provided material for students largely based in South America. Classes are scheduled in the afternoons and evenings on weekdays, and on Saturday evenings.
You’re expected to actively engage learners, create a comfortable virtual learning space, and keep sessions lively and informative. Assessing student performance and giving feedback is important.
Comfort with technology, including using Zoom and classroom digital tools, makes the daily work more seamless. The teaching is focused and friendly—never dry or repetitive.
The Faculty has established systems to support both new and experienced tutors, helping with onboarding and continuous improvement.
This role is suitable for naturally communicative, resourceful individuals who can build rapport remotely.
Pros of the Position
The biggest advantage is flexibility—pick the hours that work for you, even if you only have afternoons or late evenings available. This helps balance other responsibilities or work opportunities.
Work is 100% remote, so you save time and money on commuting. Plus, ongoing training and a proactive support team are in place to help you succeed as a tutor.
Cons of the Position
The requirement for a bachelor’s degree and a specialised TEFL/TESOL certificate can be a barrier to entry for those just starting their teaching careers.
Additionally, stable internet and backup power are a must—so an unreliable home infrastructure may limit accessibility. The teaching hours, including late nights, may not suit everyone.
Our Verdict
For those who meet the requirements, The Faculty’s Part Time Remote Online English Teaching role offers an appealing balance of flexibility, remote support, and career advancement. The schedule and technology needs should be considered, but the positives outweigh the drawbacks for many applicants.
If you’re a qualified, communicative educator seeking valuable remote work, this opportunity offers growth, convenience and consistent support—an encouraging choice for many aspiring online tutors.
