Teammate
Join as a Teammate to deliver professional cleaning for clients’ homes at Merry Maids. Full-time, paid training, flexible schedule, and growth opportunities. Salary $13–$16.75/hr.
What You’ll Do Day-to-Day
As a Merry Maids Teammate, your main focus is making homes look and feel fresh using established products and methods. Cleaning tasks range from dusting to scrubbing bathroom fixtures.
You’ll be responsible for moving light furniture, vacuuming carpets and upholstery, sanitizing kitchens, and cleaning hard floors with attention to detail and thoroughness.
Every day may involve traveling between multiple homes, carrying equipment, and working with other teammates—or sometimes independently, depending on the assigned schedule.
The role requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a background, driving, and drug check. You should be comfortable with pet hair, dust, and cleaning supplies.
Additionally, maintaining a positive attitude, teamwork, and reliable attendance are crucial, with opportunities to join weekly meetings and continuous training sessions.
Standout Advantages
The pay is very competitive for entry-level cleaning roles, with an estimated hourly range of $13 to $16.75. Pay is consistent and full-time offers stability and reliability.
You get paid training, so experience isn’t required. Merry Maids fosters a team culture, making it welcoming for newcomers to the industry.
Opportunities for Growth
Merry Maids stands out for offering genuine advancement opportunities, which is great if you want to turn this job into a long-term career in the cleaning industry.
Starting as a team member, you may work your way up to roles such as Team Captain, Trainer, or even Quality Assurance Supervisor, based on performance and interest.
Challenges to Anticipate
This job is physically demanding, involving a lot of kneeling, lifting, and walking. You’ll cover several homes a day and must move quickly between locations.
Some employees report that paid breaks and sick leave aren’t universal, and hours can sometimes fluctuate, so be sure this matches your expectations before applying.
Considerations for Applicants
If you’re looking for an entry point into professional cleaning with a national chain, Merry Maids offers the basics: structure, training, and a sense of team.
The application process includes checks and insurance requirements—good to know up front if you’re considering applying.
